First SME Roadshow a Success as part of E-DATAs Winter Series in Derry~Londonderry

The E-DATA team was thrilled to host the first roadshow in our 2026 Winter Series, at the Waterfoot Hotel in Derry~Londonderry on 30th January 2026. The workshop welcomed local SMEs keen to explore practical ways to modernise their businesses and harness the power of digitalisation.

Supporting SMEs on their Digital Journey

In today’s competitive landscape, digital transformation is no longer optional – it’s essential for growth and survival. Our workshop showcased how SMEs can improve revenue, productivity, and operational efficiency through digitalisation. 

Attendees heard real-world examples of SMEs using digital tools to drive growth and efficiency:

  • A structural steel fabrication company achieved immediate energy and cost savings through process optimisation and a long-term decarbonisation roadmap.
  • A retailer boosted revenue by 19% using a CRM system and analytics to track sales across NI, GB, ROI, and the EU.
  • A food manufacturer applied data visualisations and predictive modelling to forecast product orders more accurately, helping plan production and meet customer demand.

Insights from E-DATA Partners 

E-DATA’s five partners – Ulster University, Sustainable NI, Innovate NI, Manufacturing NI, and ATU presented on the wide range of support available, including digital capability assessments, SME mentoring, hands on technology demonstrations, our E-DATA collaborative network, no/low cost software and digital projects as well as skills training via the E-DATA Academy.
